So, I thought I would give this another go, I find myself thinking things, and remembering things, that I would like to share later on with my kids. I have tried to keep a running journal, even wanted to jot down things that the kids might say or do to share with them later as well. Key word there is "wanted to"..... anyhow, maybe I will have better luck at this the second time around. I think I put too much pressure on myself to "have to" jot something here daily.
For now, I will share something that I have found amusing this last week. Growing girls.
My two daughters, they're 3yrs apart. The older is a lot more outgoing than the youngest, but other than that, I think they're very much alike. They're both very sensitive, they get that from me :o) Anyhow, one morning, getting ready for school, the youngest chimes in saying ".... Jessica said she needed a bra" I was kinda shocked by this, as she's only 10 yrs old!! A bra?? For WHAT?? So, calmly I asked her why she felt she needed a bra.... I mean really??? a bra??? *giggle* "Well, all my friends wear them" DOH. When in Rome huh?? anyhow, I think I just kinda put her off with few words. Yet I'm sure I was still giggling on the inside.
So, grocery day is Thursdays in my house. All the kids needed shoes. Well, Jess seemed fine with hers really, but Sydney's were looking really ratty, Geoffery's as well.... and if Brian's feet keep growing, he'll be wearing the boxes rather than the shoes as he outgrows them so fast!! Well, I came out of the store with 4 pr of shoes, Sydney needed a pair for an upcoming wedding.
While in WalMart getting groceries and such, I was wandering around in the girls area,.... all the little training bras hanging there,.... I thought eh, what the hell, it's just a training bra set LOL I had to get Jess something since everyone else was getting something right?? I picked out this cute pink set. Had some flowers with strawberries and I think even a ladybug.... was cute.
Got home, unloaded everything, and had to pick the kids up from school. Sydney tried on her shoes, Jessica was doing homework, went through everything and pulled out the bra/panty set for Jessica. Set them down in front of her, she was quite pleased with it. I didn't realize HOW pleased.... she had cheerleading that night, and went to change into her outfit. I was trying to fix her top, and realized that the "bunch" was the bra going around her LOL She couldn't wait to put it on. The next day, I picked them up from school, and she complained that Sydney had hooked her bra and it was twisted LOL Sydney was hooking it for her LOL I really had to contain my giggles there. I told her to turn around (we were in the truck) and I fixed it and told her the hooking it in the front trick and turning it around. She was like "ahhhh" LOL :o) See, Mom's DO know everything....... sometimes? LOL I just really thought it was all so cute. Ohh!! She had also tried to wear it to bed, and I had to tell her, that you dont wear it 24hrs a day, you take it off at bedtime. Ohhhh lol
Anyhow, I was telling my mom about all this, and started remember when I got my first training bra. My cousin Gina, she is so much like a sister to me, we're just that close. She got a REAL bra, I think we were like in 5th grade maybe?? I was pretty jelous. I mean, I had nothing to put into a bra, much less a training bra!! Anyhow,... I sure wanted one. Sigh. I dont know how I found out, but maybe my cousin had said that her mom, my Aunt bought me a training bra gave it to mom to give to me,.... but mom never did. I eventually found it in mom's top dresser drawer, I snuck it out from time to time and would go to the bathroom and try it on, and just enjoy how it felt.... then box it up and put it back. Eventually mom gave it to me as well as this pretty lined bra,.... I was thrilled. I asked mom if she remember any of that,... she said no, she just wondered when I'd ever NEED a bra LOL Shoot, even today I really can go without one LOL
So, there's my start for the new blog with the same name. Maybe as I remember things, or just want to jabber I will. But I'm not going to hold myself to trying to do this daily.
